This is a very exciting time for arts and heritage in Vernon. The Museum is on the cusp of reaching out to the greater Vernon community to garner support for a new centralized, multifaceted cultural facility. This exhibit is just a preview of what your Museum of the near future can be, and some of the new ways we will be interacting with the community. It is about beginning a dialogue on how we can be a destination for everyone who lives and comes to Vernon, a place where you can come back often and stay for a while.

Johnny Popper Farm Tours @ Davison Orchards
See for yourself how your food is grown!
Taking a ride through the farm on "Johnny Popper Train" is a fun, interactive way for you to experience our working farm.
Something new to discover in every season on the farm. The tour takes you by apple trees, plum trees and peach trees as well as tomatoes, peppers, corn, pumpkins and more. A traditional tour involves one stop where one of our farmers will show you the fields and the orchards and you can see, touch, smell (and sometimes even taste!) one of our in-season crops. The focus of the tour changes as the seasons do, but all year long our Farm Tours are a chance to have some fun while you learn the story behind your food.
Fun for all ages
Our tours have been designed with families in mind. Kids love to ride in the tractor drawn "train" made of apple bins. Parents appreciate the covered, padded seating and the fact that the kids and adults alike learn something new about their food and how it's grown.
Ticket Prices are $6 for adults (13 yrs and older), and $4 for children (2-12 yrs) and do not need to be reserved in advance - just come on up, buy a ticket, and enjoy your tour! We do recommend that groups reserve in advance to ensure enough seating is available on the tour.

Patrick Alexandre @ Vernon Lodge and Conference Centre
After three albums fronting dixieland swinging band the F-Holes, and one co-producing and playing upright bass with Little Miss Higgins, Patrick Alexandre recorded his debut solo album Strange New World, released in November 2015. He describes it as a collection of songs about a modern era seen through the lens of old time blues. A true do-it-yourselfer, Patrick performed most of the instruments himself, though he managed to fit an appearance from each of the F-Holes and a few other guests as well. He engineered, mixed and produced the project, all of which was done on reel to reel tape, in a century old house near his home in Wolseley, Winnipeg

Vernon Film Society: A Quiet Passion @ Vernon Towne Theatre
Unconventional, yet iconic - Emily Dickinson was truly a woman before her time. Deeply tormented by gender disparities and her own feelings of insecurity, the American poet fought eternally to find her place in life, withdrawing entirely from social life after a crisis of faith. Through her beautiful, poetic work, Emily (Cynthia Nixon) narrates her adult life in Massachusetts, taking the audience on an emotional journey. Nixon’s intoxicating performance captures Dickinson’s fierce optimism and faith in this lyrical film, tied together by master filmmaker Terence Davies.
Our 1st showing will be at 5:15 pm
Our 2nd showing will be at 7:45 pm
All seats - $7.00 (Cash only) There is a bank machine in the lobby for your convenience. Advance tickets are available at the BEAN SCENE Coffee House and the theatre, one week prior to each film
