Canada Day in the North Okanagan: Your 2026 Community Guide
There’s something special about how the North Okanagan does Canada Day — less about spectacle, more about the everyday magic of a place that knows how to gather.
Wednesday, July 1, 2026 — here’s where to be, community by community.
Pancake breakfasts at sunrise, kids racing between bouncy castles, classic cars lined up in the sun, neighbours waving from parade floats. Whether you’ve lived here for decades or you’re spending your first July 1 in the valley, this is one of the best days of the year to feel just how connected our communities really are.

Main celebration: noon – 7:00 PM · Free & family-friendly
The heart of Vernon’s day unfolds at Polson Park, hosted by the VOICE Society (Vernon Okanagan Inspired Community Events). Bring the picnic blanket, the lawn chairs, and your dancing shoes — it’s built around live music, local food, and community booths.

- Stay late for the live music and fireworks — the evenings are when it all comes together.
From all of us at Chris Holm & Associates, happy Canada Day. Days like this are a reminder of what makes the North Okanagan such a remarkable place to call home — and we hope to see you out there, somewhere between the pancake griddle and the fireworks. 🍁
