Two big dates that could shape the spring market
The Canadian housing market is in an interesting spot right now.
Sales have cooled a bit—January came in 5.8% below the prior month, and the national average sale price dipped 2.6% year over year.
At the same time, new listings climbed 7.3%, giving buyers more to choose from.
It's not the red-hot spring some were predicting, but it's not a standstill either. Conditions vary a lot depending on where you are, which is why working with someone who knows your local market matters more than ever right now.
And two dates coming up could shift the direction:
📅 March 17 — CREA releases the next national resale report
📅 March 18 — Bank of Canada's next rate decision (currently holding at 2.25%)
